Cricket – PitchVision, Richard Welch, Chris Peploe

Cricket episode!  We invited Chris Peploe to guest-host this episode with Richard Welch from PitchVision.  Chris is doing a PhD in cricket biomechanics at the Sports Technology Institute at Loughborough University so he knows a thing or two about the sport.  Richard created PitchVision vision and he tells us about how the concept came about and how it has evolved into the multi-faceted product and service it is today.  The system is able to put numbers to balls bowled and hit based on an array of sensors and the data can be shared and compared around the world.  Follow them @PitchVision and check out their website for a cool live display of balls bowled around the world!

After the discussion, we noticed some recording quality issues.  Everything is completely audible but there is a slight distortion on some of the voices.  Sorry about that, we’ll try to keep it from happening again in the future.
