In this episode, we come to you from the 2012 International Sports Engineering Association conference! The conference features presentations from academic researchers and companies from around the world, all focused on technology in sports. We had the chance to catch up with Mark Henderson, the engineering manager at adidas in Portland, Oregon. Mark tells us about his beginnings in the field and his current role with adidas. His office, the US headquarters of a Germany company, focuses on American sport equipment like the new Crazy Light basketball shoe. Mark’s team was also behind the adizero Prime sp, the sprint spike used in the London Olympics. New geometry, materials, and manufacturing methods make it 62% lighter than last Olympics’ sprint spikes! Enjoy!
